The main scope of activity covers Total’s Exploration acreage and New Ventures on the Brazilian petroleum basins, based in Houston.
Main mission is to prepare/execute/evaluate and participate in Oil and gas EDA (Exploration, Delineation and Appraisal) programs & NV opportunities evaluations based on technical evaluations under the guidance of Brazil Exploration Manager.
Contributes to exploration, delineation and appraisal wells drilling, by means of G&G data synthesis (wells, seismic and potential methods) at regional, sub-regional and prospect scales.
Guarantees quality, consistency and integration of basin & prospect evaluations using most appropriate geophysics techniques/studies (as per state of the art rules) including data-knowledge base aspects (building/updating) of the Total Group
Main contributor for geophysical studies, follow-up including acquisition, processing, AVO studies.
Insure geological interpretation quality and integrity within the Brazilian exploration & NV team.
Contributor to seek NV opportunities in the Brazilian basins through synthesis studies or Data Rooms (contractors, internally or with HQ entities).
No direct reports, responsible for developing of less experienced peers. Can have interns/trainees under his/her responsibility.
Master or PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences or equivalent
6-10 years of industry experience as an Exploration Geologist
Excellent interpersonal and technical level in key exploration techniques especially the seismic interpretation
Full understanding of the Exploration process and cycle
Soft skills: good listener, team player, ability to influence and convince, open-mindedness
Fluent in English
Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
