Reporting to the Vice President, Peace River Business Unit, this person will be responsible for
formulating and executing reservoir development strategies and providing reservoir engineering
support to maximize economic recovery from specific Baytex operated assets.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Monitor and evaluate reservoir performance to optimize production and recovery (e.g.

well testing, decline analysis, reservoir simulation)

Work in a multi-discipline team to identify, evaluate, prioritize, plan and execute

exploitation, workover, and acquisition opportunities and low risk exploration

Review existing assets and pools to identify optimization and EOR opportunities
Develop production, recoverable reserve and economics forecasts for internal budgets,

acquisitions and development opportunities

Assist with the company’s reserve bookings and liaison with independent engineering


Ensure corporate compliance with regulatory bodies in areas relating to drilling, reservoir

depletion, and recovery schemes

Represent Baytex interests in relevant joint venture projects

The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering from a recognized
institution, APEGGA professional status, and a minimum of 5 years of reservoir experience
including reservoir assessments, development planning/exploitation, economic evaluation, well
testing, water flooding and simulation.


Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Negotiating experience is an asset
Works independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage time and produce results under tight deadlines
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, AFE Navigator, geoScout, Value Navigator and


Field experience is a definite asset
