Tundra is seeking an Exploitation Engineer in our Calgary office.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager - New Ventures & Corporate Reserves, the Exploitation Engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for providing exploitation engineering support for the asset team.
Responsibilities include:
Provide support for the capital budget process by collaborating with the team to propose a drilling and workover program which aligns with Tundra’s corporate goals.
Steward the reserve process ensuring accuracy of third party reserves and economic inputs. Generate ideas to grow reserve volumes and value.
Manage the drilling program which includes preparation of technical well approvals, well completion design and reserve expectations and economics.
Support the workover program by overseeing the injection conversion program to ensure timely and effective waterflood implementation. Identify conformance treatment candidates and work with team on best remedial strategy.
Support production by monitoring and responding to deviations from expected targets for projects driven by the reservoir exploitation group.
Provide reservoir support on underperforming areas.
Waterflood surveillance and management in coordination with the Production Engineering team.
Participate in well reviews providing recommendations and specialized knowledge.
Provide reservoir engineering support including: reserves information, supporting maps, production expectation vs actual performance.
Provide technical support and economic analysis for drilling and workover activities, as well as acquisition opportunities that may arise.
Work closely with team members to develop, evaluate and implement new pilots for secondary recovery projects where required
Monitor well production performance, production modelling based on flow regimes and reserve estimate using unconventional techniques, as required.
Assess current industry practice and implement new ideas to improve results.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams of professionals to identify and evaluate opportunities to create value
Prepare presentations for senior management on projects as required.
Other required duties as assigned.
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
Professional Engineer with 5+ years of active and progressive experience.
Familiarity with field operations.
Williston Basin light oil operations in SE SK considered an asset, but not required.
Experience working with gas would be an attribute, but not required.
Experience with oilfield software such as Accumap, Mosaic, Spotfire, Excel, PVR
Energetic and highly motivated self-starter
Well developed teamwork skills.
Well developed critical thinking skills; able to apply logic and challenge assumptions, conclusions and make appropriate interventions.
Excellent presentation as well as written and oral communication skills
Willingness to travel to field sites.
