Position Description: EOR Petrophysicist. This position is for a specialist in rock-fluid physics, laboratory SCAL, core-based reservoir study, rock mechanics studies, and detailed well log analysis. The position supports evaluation of current and future EOR activities. Reports to G&G; manager.
Position Requirements: Competencies, skill, and abilities. The successful candidate will have an aptitude for understanding complex and dynamic reservoir conditions of EOR fields. The position requires minimum of three years’ experience, will have had laboratory-based core analysis experience, linking same to well logs analysis. Candidate will have experience presenting complex topics to technical professionals. This role will require the ability to work within and contribute to multiple asset teams simultaneously. Other duties as assigned.
Proficiencies: Must have working knowledge of Petra software. Geolog software for advanced well log interpretations is required; training is available. An engineering or geology B.S. degree is required. The successful candidate will have the ability to write credible reports and make frequent presentations to peers and management. Must be able to apply a broad range of geological and engineering principles, theories, and methods as an analytical problem solver. Ability to clearly speak and write in English is required.
Physical demands: Predominantly office environment with some travel to U.S.-based fields and laboratories.
Working conditions: Primarily office. Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
Supervisory responsibility: N/A
Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities: A thesis-based M.S. degree is preferred. Prior experience in Permian Basin conventional EOR fields is desirable.
