Position Description: EOR Development Geologist . This position is responsible for geological contributions to EOR development opportunities within Kinder Morgan’s existing asset base, supporting the evaluation of business development opportunities, initial development following acquisitions and transitioning geological understanding to asset teams. Reports to G&G; manager.
Competencies, skills, and abilities: The successful candidate will have a broad range of E&P; experience and an aptitude for understanding complex geological conditions in EOR fields. The position requires experience both in development geology and business development roles. An ability to present complex topics to a broad audience is required. This role will involve working independently, mentoring colleagues. In addition, responsibilities include: handles basic to complex geological assignments, works closely with engineers, other duties as assigned.
Proficiencies: Must be an expert user of Petra software with experience in making maps, cross-sections, spreadsheets, log cross-plots, PhiH calculations and mapping, computations from logs using equations expressions, substitution, advanced transforms. Must be able to apply a broad range of geological principles, theories, and methods as an analytical problem solver. Ability to speak and understand English is required.
Physical demands: Predominantly office environment with some travel to field operations and remote sites.
Working conditions: Primarily office. Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
Supervisory responsibility: N/A
Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities: M.S. in geology. Prior experience in development and characterization of West Texas conventional reservoirs. Past experience in contributing to reserves analysis is a plus.
