The CRC Thermal Operations Team is seeking to fill a Reservoir Engineer position to support our Heavy Oil California operations. The position will be located out of our Bakersfield, CA location.
Work with multi-discipline teams to support optimal asset development and operation, leveraging fundamental reservoir and production engineering skills in development planning, opportunity generation, production surveillance and optimization.
Responsible for developing workovers and new drill locations in assigned field area(s).
Responsible for routine surveillance of wells & patterns to ensure area is producing at peak rates.
Monitor and analyze expenses and production for reserve report review.
Responsible for providing engineering support to acquisition and business development activities.
Deliver presentations and effectively communicate with management.
BS Engineering degree required, preferably in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical.
Knowledgeable of all aspects of Reservoir and Production Engineering.
Ability to complete decline curve analysis, develop drill well locations, and prepare area for reserve report review.
Proven production operations experience of at least 5 years.
Strong communication skills and aptitude for working in a team environment.
Computer skills should include proficiency in the following software applications: Excel, Word, Spotfire, GAP, Prosper, Mbal, ValNav.
Proficiency in surveillance and tracking software such as DSS, XSPOC, Openwells or industry equivalents.
Waterflood/and or Steamflood grass roots development and injection survey interpretation.
Experience with regulatory reporting and permitting associated with Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program requirements.
