The Senior Reservoir Engineer (RE) provides reservoir engineering input and expertise to plan, manage and optimize unconventional shale developments in the Permian Basin. In this endeavor, the RE works closely with geologists, geophysicists, and other multidisciplinary team members. The work scope spans a wide spectrum from technical analyses through economic evaluation and final presentation of recommendations to management.

Works with geologists, geophysicists and other REs to high-grade formations with greatest potential for profitable development across the company’s regional portfolio.
Collaborates with land, drilling, completion, production, and facilities engineers to determine requirements for development alternatives.
Analyzes performance data (e.g., decline curves, RTA, pressure build-up / fall-off data, etc.) from analogous reservoirs and wells to derive representative production type curves for use in economic evaluations and performance comparisons.
Performs cash flow analyses to evaluate economic viability of investment opportunities.
Presents work results and recommendations to company management.
Follows approved plan activity through execution, monitoring progress and performance and ensures representative reserves are booked for quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
Conducts business development evaluations for land acquisitions, divestitures and/or, trades to maximize value of development area.
Assists in developing multiyear, region business plans at periodic intervals.
General Characteristics and Success Factors

BS in petroleum engineering (or other engineering discipline if accompanied by significant reservoir engineering experience).
Advanced degree(s) not required, but valued.

7+ years of relevant industry experience in reservoir engineering.
Demonstrated competence as a reservoir engineer working unconventional shale.
Able to work productively with minimal supervision.
Proficient with oilfield economic theory and software (preferably ARIES).
Exposure to the practical application of tools such as RTA, hydraulic fracture modelling & reservoir simulation. Proficiency with each of these tools is not a requirement.
Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
Collaborative work style and ability to interact easily with a wide range of people.
