Key Duties/Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Reservoir Engineer to join our Permian Team. This person will work within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the management and optimization of Apache’s secondary and tertiary recovery projects in the Northwest Shelf and Central Basin Platform.
- Use classical reservoir engineering techniques (e.g., material balance, DCA etc.) to identify drilling, recompletion, and workover potential within the existing secondary and tertiary recovery fields
- Analyze the performance of the flood patterns and recommend improvements where needed; help manage and execute routine surveillance of the field
- Build reservoir simulation models when appropriate to validate/improve predictions and quantify uncertainty
- Perform economic analyses and sensitivities and present recommendations to region and corporate management
- Plan and execute project development with team of geoscientists, drilling and production engineers, and landmen
- Build and maintain field development plans to characterize asset potential and value
- Identify and evaluate strategic acquisition/trade/divestiture opportunities
- Provide support for new reserve bookings
Job Qualifications:
- BS in Petroleum Engineering (or related engineering degree)
- 5-20 Yrs Reservoir Engineering experience with E&P Company
- Improved and Enhanced Oil Recovery experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and consistently meet project deadlines
- Must be detail oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Proficient at economic evaluation and risk/uncertainty assessment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to present to Executive-level audience
- Experience using database, engineering, and geoscience software, including Aries, OFM, Petra, and Spotfire
