KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
PURPOSE/JOB SUMMARY:
Direct and supervise production engineers and techs engaged in developing, operating, and maintaining oil and gas leases. This role will provide technical and professional leadership to the Production Engineering staff and work with the other functional managers to assure that sufficient production engineering expertise and effort is being applied to economically exploit Apache’s oil and gas properties.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct supervision of engineering personnel
Manage technical assignments according to Focus Team priorities
Track ongoing production engineering projects, intervene where deemed necessary
Assist in the maintenance of well records and production operations.
Confer with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel in order to research, design, and resolve problems.
Perform economic evaluation, prepare AFEs and get financial approval for work
Support and expand implementation of digital oilfield via automation, ROC’s and software.
Implement efficiencies of work processes through analytics.
Support and enforce data governance of all field and engineering work.
Participate in annual work program, budget, and production forecast planning
Manage water flood operations and surveillance work
Support in the design and install of lift equipment for wells as needed
Participate in weekly management meetings
Manage and report ITS process
Support Production Outlook process
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Petroleum/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of relevant E&P company experience in production engineering and field operations
3+ years of leadership/managerial experience
Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications and other PC based computer applications
Excellent communication and grammar skills, exhibited both in conversation and written materials
PRIMARY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES (TECHNICAL & LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES):
High level of production engineering expertise with experience in all types of operations related to the full life cycle of producing oil wells, including:
Completions, recompletions and workovers
Interventions including slick line, electric line and coiled tubing operations
Artificial lift design, installation and maintenance
Facility installation and operations
Expert knowledge in the following:
Artificial lift systems, design, and troubleshooting
Inflow performance
Completions and Well Interventions
Secondary recovery (water flooding) and EOR
Production Operations
Strong communication and organizational skills - able to work well with field personnel, geoscience team, peers, management and stakeholders
Proven track record of financial performance and responsibility with experience in budget and schedule planning, AFE preparation and economic evaluation
