Job Description

Assist engineers and property evaluation team in all stages of development, analysis, and presentation of data using knowledge of economic software, production data software, and MS Excel and MS Access. In addition, will help create forecasts, economic analyses, and contribute to capital budgeting/planning. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Assist in the evaluations of new business opportunities 2. Provide support with budgeting and forecasting 3. Support economic analysis and value determination for A&D packages 4. Perform trend analysis, perform calculations, and import/maintain production data 5. Build and run Aries and PHDWin cash flow models for economic analysis 6. Prepare presentations using PowerPoint 7. Create databases and update data for budgets and strategic plans 8. Manipulate data, ensure consistency, and provide quality control POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: Candidates must be detail oriented, self-starting individuals with excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to multi task. Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Excel and Access. The candidate must have strong analytical, communication, and computer skills. In addition, he/she must be accurate and action-oriented. Basic knowledge and understanding of cash flows and PC software knowledge; specifically MS Excel and MS Access. Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University. Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures. Computer Skills - A working knowledge of MS Office Suite is required. Preferred: Masters degree in Economics, Business or related discipline or equivalent work experience. A broad understanding of the E&P business (production, drilling, operations, and reservoir) and a strong knowledge of oilfield terminology Experience with ARIES or PHDWin Economic Evaluation System Experience with Drilling Info, HPDI or IHS Energy production data systems Prior use of SQL or VBA highly desirable. Comfortable working with large amounts of data in spreadsheets and building complex tools and models. Financial analysis and reporting background instrumental. Two or more years of related experience in the oil and gas industry.
