 We are currently looking for an experienced, motivated, and creative individual to fill the position of Reservoir Engineering Advisor Senior within our Greater Elk Hills operations based in Bakersfield.
 
Reservoir Engineers are a critical member of a multi-disciplined team adding value to the assets through capital reinvestment and application of solid reservoir management skills. They work in concert with an integrated team of geoscientists, production/facility engineers, and field operations to create/identify, develop, and execute profitable capital projects which increase profitability/reserves. In addition to the creation of capital projects, reservoir engineers identify and economically justify conformance, deepening, new pay, and workover projects. Responsibilities also include reservoir management through frequent multidiscipline reviews of wells/patterns, production forecasting for the annual budget/planning process, and reserve determination.
Qualifications

 

  • BS degree in engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in petroleum/reservoir engineering discipline
  • Demonstrates results in improving the profitability of a field using reservoir analysis/management techniques
  • Demonstrates the ability to use petroleum engineering concepts to solve problems and identify enhancement opportunities
  • Demonstrates the ability to create, design, implement, and post appraise cost effective and economically successful workover and drilling/completion programs
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with cross-functional teams and working interest partners
  • Proficiency in reservoir engineering and mature waterflood pattern management practices including, but not limited to, material balance, injection optimization, conformance improvement, flood pattern surveillance, and performance forecasting
  • Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with limited  data/information available
  • Understanding of oil and gas finance in relation to reserves and economics
  • Proficiency in technical and economic software packages – OSI PI, Reservoir surveillance software packages (DSS, Spotfire, 3DSL Streamline), Reservoir simulation software packages (Eclipse, VIP, TNavigator), ValueNavigator for reserves evaluations, MS Office – Access
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License & a clean DMV record.
 
Desired Qualifications:
  • Mature Waterflood/and or Steamflood grass roots development
  • 5+ years of reservoir engineering experience including capital project development and reserve determination
  • 3+ years of production engineering including completions/workover preparation and evaluations for injectors and producers
  • 3+ years of economic analysis preferably with Value Navigator
  • Masters in PE
  • PHD in PE in lieu of years of experience
