Description

The Eagle Ford team is looking for a geoscientist to build, plan and execute the development program. The Eagle Ford, located in South Texas, is a premier unconventional play in ConocoPhillips’ portfolio. The asset is an active program in Lower 48 with six drilling rigs currently in the area, with plans to continue growing. Recently production was over 200M net BOEPD. This horizontal development will span over 200,000 acres. The successful candidate will work with all functions of the organization in a legacy asset with high activity and technical advancements.

Responsibilities may include:

Coordinate development efforts in assigned areas within a multi-discipline team that includes Land, Drilling, Completions, Regulatory, Surface Land, Operations Geology, and Facilities, gaining approval and implementing development plans including staking, well planning, execution and post well evaluations
Together with reservoir engineer, responsible for maintaining and optimizing long term plan of development to maximize value for assigned areas including identifying Land/BD opportunities
Build and maintain a drilling inventory that is prioritized and vetted through multi-discipline team to focus on value, production, land obligations and infrastructure capability
Develop detailed well plans to maximize the value and fully support an aggressive drilling program
Integrate 3D seismic into well planning, formation tops prediction, and identifying drilling hazards
Provide geological support as needed to Operations Geologists during drilling operations
Participate in an unconventional multi-disciplinary team performing subsurface technical evaluations to optimize development in the Eagle Ford asset
Stay abreast of organizational learnings and recommendations and integrate into drilling programs
Consistently seek ways to improve efficiency and solve difficult problems by taking appropriate technical and financial risks in execution and planning phases of the development program
Collaboration with other Implementation teams as well as Reservoir Characterization to efficiently transfer information as the program developments
Provide support to continuous improvement efforts in both the execution and planning phases of the business plan
Provide support to additional projects such as A&D; efforts, competitor analysis, or special technical studies as necessary (ex: Basal Austin Chalk, Salt Water Disposal, etc)

Qualifications

Basic/Required:

Legally authorized to work in the United States
Master's degree or higher in Geoscience
1+ years of geoscience related experience
Preferred:

Ability to keep pace with an active drilling program and react to the dynamics as information changes our development strategy
Experience with unconventional resource plays in L48
Initiative to work without constant supervision
Analyzes stakeholder needs, global, political, and market trends to understand how they shape the future and impact our business results
Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
Builds strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals
