Develop and strengthen workforce training relationships between oil and gas industry and Midland College by providing and offering continuing education courses to meet current and future industry needs. Provide oversight of computer and non-workstation courses for all experience levels to a variety of professionals including geologists, geophysicists, engineers, technicians, administrative and management personnel as well as other working professionals in the oil and gas industry. Schedule, facilitate, and market additional industry seminars, workshops and forums in response to dynamic oil and gas community’s needs.
Bachelor’s degree in Earth/Geological Sciences or Petroleum Engineering
Minimum of ten years of oil and gas industry experience, particularly in exploration and production
Knowledge of the most current and cutting-edge oil and gas industry computer software
Strong public relations and marketing skills with the oil and gas industry
Familiarity with the following geoscience software: Petra, Landmark, Schlumberger, and SMT’s Kingdom
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office products as well as various oil and gas software packages
Experience in public relations, program development, possessing strong supervisory and management skills
Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Master’s degree in Earth/Geological Sciences or Petroleum Engineering
Previous oil and gas industry training or teaching experience
Provide supervision of PPDC employees and oversight of the facility
Create and maintain strong and active Advisory Board composed of wide-range of oil and gas exploration/production and service companies to expand workforce training offerings based on Advisory Board input
Host and coordinate, if applicable, workshops, seminars and professional society events as requested by industry; facilitate software User Groups organizations and/or technical software presentations; represent PPDC and Midland College at designated events and award ceremonies, as assigned and needed
Recruit competent instructors, both locally and nationally, to teach needed industry training courses
Expand online program offerings and facility delivery capability
Collaborate with MC Administration to generate fund-raising opportunities and stimulate local giving
Coordinate with MC Media to create and develop marketing/advertising strategies for program
Support professional society meetings and forums at the local and national levels through attendance and participation; support management in representing the program at local, state, and national events
Manage program operational budget and serve as advocate in pursuing local and national sources of funding to enrich the program
Obtain working knowledge and understanding of Continuing Education and College’s policies and procedures and organizational functions
Periodically review long-range plans for expansion of program hardware, software and data holdings, and facilities
Other duties as assigned

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the inside office or to other College locations
Travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town may be required

Min Salary $68,000 per year Max Salary $74,000 per year Pay Statement Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
