Job Summary:Responsible for driving value creation from the company’s oil and gas assets in the Marcellus by maximizing well productivity through innovative drilling and completions design. The role involves evaluating geological, geophysical, and drilling data to generate subsurface interpretations and make recommendations to upper management in an effort to maximize the company’s investments. This will involve applying technology to enhance economics by exceeding company type curves and reducing costs. The position will work closely with the subsurface and operating teams to ensure new methodologies are implemented effectively.Qualifications/Skills:• Minimum of 15+ years of O&G industry experience• Must have extensive experience working in the Marcellus (minimum 5+ years’)• Degree qualified in Geoscience/Geology and/or Petroleum Engineering• Strong understanding of both Geological and Subsurface EngineeringJob Responsibilities:• Oversees all phases of geologic operations.• Seeks and coordinates subsurface data-trade opportunities with competitors.• Oversees the interpretation, evaluation and recommendations for major company investments in exploratory and/or development acreage.• Oversees the in-depth geologic interpretation of structural and stratigraphic development, petrophysical analysis, and log interpretation for reservoir target optimization.• Ensure support to the reservoir engineering group and subsurface consultants in reservoir modelling projects.• Responsible for implementing plan to exceed company well type curve goals.• Ensure the research, recommendation and implementation of well design changes that maximize value.• Oversee reservoir/stimulation modelling.• Communicates with top-level management for business decisions as needed.• Identify and manage 3rd party consultants for specialized technical projects• Participate in technical forums and engage with other operators to further technical goals.• Makes recommendation on implementation of new technology.
