DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for the following activities for appraisal and development planning of the Zama field:
Monitor and manage cuttings, core, and fluid studies. QC technical deliverables from vendors. Ensure that reports and data are distributed to JV partners. Recommend and execute additional studies as appropriate.
Prepare reports, data, and sample submission to CNH; including any submissions arising from the Zama appraisal campaign.
Prepare geologic displays (maps, cross sections, etc.) from existing interpretations and models.
Gather/provide input data for geomodelling efforts, as needed. With the Senior Geoscientist, advise the geomodeller on reservoir architecture and facies distributions.
Evaluate secondary reservoirs and additional areas of interest within the Zama Appraisal Area.
Assist in preparing Zama Development Plan.
Assist in preparing reserves and resources documentation (presentations and reports).
Support Zama Project Team as requested.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a professional petroleum geoscientist
Experience with conventional development projects strongly preferred
Experience in Offshore Gulf of Mexico preferred.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in geology, geological engineering, or geophysics; Master’s degree or higher preferred
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Proficiency with Petrel strongly preferred. Experience with Landmark or SMT beneficial.
Basic familiarity with petrophysical analysis, reservoir description, and resource estimation
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal staff, consultants, and vendors
Effective communication, both orally and in writing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Creativity, strong problem solving skills, and ability to work in situations of uncertainty
Strong sense of integrity and the ability to deal with ethical situations effectively
Willingness to work a flexible schedule
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
None required for this position
Employee must be able to sit for extended periods and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
Ability to travel without limitation less than 20 percent
