An independent gas company headquartered in Sharjah have a requirement for a Development Geology and Geophysics Manager to lead the functional excellence of the geology skill pool and to set standards, develop people and improve performance, so the company can grow and add value in line with the strategic plans.

Role Outline:Responsibilities:
Leadership of Geology Function: Accountable for the geology skill pool of the company. Motivates, critically assesses and encourages high quality subsurface technical work across the business units. Mentors, inspires and develops technical professionals.

Provides career direction, progression and growth to subsurface technical staff

Technical Quality & Standards: Sets Company technical standards in Geology.

Benchmarks against competitor companies.

Provides technical support to business units and Business Development department as requested/indicated. Builds and maintains a reputation across the industry; participates in peer networks.

Guides the achievement of technical section objectives through the leadership of the subsurface professionals - setting individual objectives, recruiting qualified staff, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of informal and formal feedback - in order to maximise subordinate and departmental performance.

Lead the team in all aspects of Development G&G; work and work closely with the Reservoir Engineering Manager, Operations Geology Manager and Exploration Manager to ensure an optimum Subsurface programme is delivered and KPIs met.

Review existing reservoir and static models for all fields and make recommendations for improvements, in terms of reserves revisions, new development drilling, software application and reservoir characterization.

Oversee, and where necessary, actively participate in reservoir characterization and static modelling work.

MsC in Geology, PhD preferred
