Development Geologist / GeomodellerUpdate and maintain the 8 geomodels of 8 gas fields, of either single or multiple reservoirs, all in a Paleozoic clastic depositional environment. Additional reservoirs will need to be incorporated into existing models and new geomodels of new fields might be a delivery at a later stage. This requires organising and facilitating delivery of representative static models and ensuring good communication with the reservoir engineers to ensure an optimal basis and input for the dynamic models.Experience in in all static modelling stages and comprehensive skills in RMS software (experience in Petrel can compensate), geologic background, sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy are a key pre-requisite for this position. Experience of the Paleozoic sedimentology in North Africa is advantageous. Excellent computer skills and experience across a range of petro technical applications used for geomodelling and reservoir geology would also be advantageous. Key Accountabilities:Deliver HSE commitments and demonstrate an exemplary attitude to HSE specifically with input to the safe planning and hazard identification for drilling wells.Update and maintain geomodels. Add reservoirs into existing geomodels. Possibly build new geomodels for new fields.Organizing and facilitating for representative geomodels.Present and explain geomodels to the Team and to shareholdersEnsuring good communication across disciplines.Update and maintain the existing sequence stratigraphy.Chase opportunities and unlock unconnected volumes.Propose new well targets and contribute to the well planning.Work with geotechnical specialists.Work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.Train local staff. Essential criteria & qualifications Minimum of 12 years geosciences experience and a minimum of 6 years with geomodelling experience.Skillful in building and updating geomodels. A track record of geomodel ownership must be demonstrable upon requestMinimum 6 years of experience in RMS (alternatively Petrel) geomodelling softwareStrong sedimentological skills and sequence stratigraphy experience is required.Familiar with key principles of reservoir engineering and knowledge in Eclipse software is advantageous.Excellent cooperative skills with the reservoir engineers are essential to integrate the static model with the dynamic modelThe Subsurface team uses a Landmark suite and hence knowledge of the software is highly beneficialGood communication skills with proven success working with multidisciplinary teams and across disciplines.Ability to work in a challenging, multinational environment and to deliver to tight deadlines.Good organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills.Education: University degree in Geology or Geophysics (BSc or higher).Languages Needed: English – Fluent, French – AdvantageousOur role in supporting diversity and inclusionAs an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group.
