Crescent Point Energy U.S. Corp. is currently seeking to fill the following position:

 

Job Title:         Development Engineer

Location:         Denver, Colorado

Reports to:      Team Lead, Engineering

 

Purpose of the Position:

The Development Engineering role requires a broad skill set of engineering knowledge including but not limited to: production operations, drilling and completions and basic reservoir engineering. The Development Engineer will be responsible for optimizing the Company’s existing asset base though the evaluation and application of horizontal drilling, well downspacing and waterflooding of existing pools. In addition, the candidate will be expected to help lead the evaluation process for potential U.S. asset acquisitions. The candidate will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of: geology, geophysics, finance/accounting, land and field staff.

 

Main Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Identify and develop exploitation opportunities and reservoir depletion strategies
  • Focus on increasing recovery factors through infill drilling, water flood optimization and improved technology
  • Recommend/implement area development plans leading to appropriate capital spending
  • Lead year-end reservoir evaluation activities and company reserve bookings for assigned areas
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations of assets for acquisition with a focus on high quality, large resource in place pools with production and reserves upside
  • Coordinate tie-in of new drills as required
  • Create short-term and long-term development strategies
  • Identify value adding opportunities such as reactivations, recompletions, etc
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all the Company’s operations and potential acquisition targets
  • Ensure compliance of all operations with relevant State regulations
  • Lead production optimization activities including facility optimization/rationalization and other operating cost reduction initiatives and prepare detailed economics to support these projects
  • Work closely with field staff to optimize existing production and to coordinate certain operations activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related fiel
  • 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry is required
  • Operations, production, development and enhanced recovery experience is required
  • Strong evaluations skills are required
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in: OFM, Value Navigator, Microsoft Office applications, Wellview, Accumap, Petra and FieldView
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both field and office staff are required
  • Comfortable in making presentations and facilitating meetings
  • Team Player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
