The Role:In charge of ensuring quality control of petro technical data (e.g. seismic, well logs…) before and after loading in geosciences platforms for Reservoir Management and Exploration teams. Formally to fulfil the role of “Information and Samples Coordinator » responsible for ensuring full compliance with UK subsurface data regulations. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Listing and loading seismic data, well data and others datatypes in professional data bases (master reference projects) to be exploited in technical software for interpretation and analyses, in cooperation with GIS teams to QC the location of data. • Acting as primary point of contact for Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) data related matters. • Ensuring compliance with the OGA regulations regarding retention and reporting (including to CDA and BGS) for all owned wells and seismic data. • Ensuring Data Management best practices in line with rules and procedures of the Company. • Ensuring correct data receipt, transfer and cataloguing of all physical and electronic data items. • Participating in the deployment of geosciences software and in version migration tasks. • Administrating and maintaining the Company geosciences databases in collaboration with IS teams. • Preparing orders to service companies and/or internal entities to digitize, vectorize, copy and transcript data. It may concern various media (e.g. paper, films, tapes,...) for various types of data (logs, maps, seismic lines…). • Ensuring follow-up and QC of the corresponding work. • Upon request, participating in data rooms (in the framework of missions in France and/or abroad) to assist geoscientists to recover data and to perform the first level of quality check of collected data. • Be responsible for transfer of all relevant subsurface data and information as defined in the Information & Samples plan upon completion of asset sales, license/asset handover or relinquishment. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACES • With Reservoir Management and Exploration teams. • With Information Systems teams. • With Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) • With Common Data Access (CDA) • With British Geological Survey (BGS) • In connection with software suppliers (hotlines and commercial services) and service providers. CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT The position will be located in Aberdeen office, with occasional business trips abroad. REQUIRED COMPETENCES/ QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / PROFILE • Master degree in geology / earth sciences with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. • Perfect knowledge of data loading principles and data transfers under at least one or two main geosciences platforms (Petrel/Kingdom/Geoframe). • Perfect Knowledge of data standards for well logs and seismic data (formats, tools and log curves meaning, seismic polarities, scales…). • Good knowledge of geodesy principles and practice of GIS tools (ESRI). • Good knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems. • Rigorous, autonomous, reactive and organised. • Team player, with ability to work and communicate in a pluri-disciplinary environment. • Fluent in English (oral and written).About Fircroft:Fircroft has been placing people in specialist technical industries for approaching half a century, focusing on mid to senior level engineers for contract and permanent roles worldwide.
