Blueprint Recruitment Solutions have a new opportunity for a Dams & Reservoirs Engineer to join a leading multi-discipline company on a 6-12 month contract based in South Wales. The client would also consider the right candidate for a permanent position. Working from their Newport or Cardiff offices, the client are seeking a Dams & Reservoirs Engineer to take a key role in the management and delivery of the increasing workload in dams and reservoirs.
The selected candidate will have the following key roles and responsibilities:
Act as Project Manager, supporting and keeping the Project Director informed of project progress and any potential issues that could affect the outcome of the project.
Act as Technical Leas for your own projects and provide technical support to those run by others.
Act as a key contact with the client for project delivery and managing expectations.
Manage and monitor financial performance of the projects, including regularly updating the financial forecasts.
Manage the planning and co-ordination of all technical activities.
Plan and manage the technical and commercial reviews of the project at all appropriate stages.
Capture the knowledge gained on the project, including client feedback
Develop and design solutions for projects, prepare design calculations, specifications and reports and oversee production of both outline and detailed design.
Undertake feasibility studies and investigative reports.
Lead junior staff in delivery of projects.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Hold a relevant degree with Chartered Engineer Status.
Have a strong background within the dams and reservoirs field of engineering with in-depth knowledge of mechanical infrastructure including pipes and valves.
Membership of the Supervising Engineers panel under the reservoirs Act 1975 or working towards this qualification.
Competence in using software packages in hydraulic analysis and stability analysis relating to dams.
Good IT skills including MS Office.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
