Position Summary:

Under general supervision, individuals in this role perform reservoir engineering assignments which are of broad scope and varying difficulty in order to develop and maintain oil and gas reserves estimates and future production forecasts in the corporate reserves database. Individuals must be fully competent in standard techniques, procedures and criteria used in carrying out a sequence of engineering tasks.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work directly for the Vice President – Corporate Engineering to monitor and maintain reserve estimates and production forecasts on all properties within an assigned geographic area
  • Ensure accuracy of all aspects of the economic cashflow parameters captured within the corporate reserves database
  • Communicate regularly with various groups within the company, including management, regional engineering, geoscience, drilling, production, land and accounting on various subjects
  • Perform various analyses and studies related to well performance, pressures and recovery methods, including volumetric and production decline curve analysis
  • Perform independent analyses of drilling, recompletion and workover activity to provide objective and ongoing feedback for the economic decision-making process
  • Support the economic analysis and evaluation of significant acquisition and divestment opportunities, as necessary
  • Assist with special studies of producing properties in order to estimate oil and gas reserves
Skills & Experience:


  • Established proficiency with ARIES software is required
  • Proficient in computing skills and Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Access are required) to manipulate and interpret data and reports; Experience with Spotfire is a plus
  • Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze large amounts of detailed data
  • Strong analytical, numeric and problem solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to thrive in both a self-directed and collaborative work environment
  • Exceptional skills in managing multiple demands, including prioritizing deadlines and working efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Track record of reliability and meeting established deadlines

  • Excellent written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with assets in the Permian Basin and Mid-Continent areas is a plus


  • Position typically requires skills obtained through the completion of a 4 year degree program in Petroleum Engineering (or similar) and 5 years (minimum) of experience in reservoir engineering or related discipline



  • Work is typically performed inside the corporate office location. Multi-day travel to regional office locations is expected at least quarterly.  In addition, occasional travel to field locations is strongly encouraged (as necessary to perform job functions).
