This position is as a member of Anadarko’s Delaware Basin Completions Engineering Team located in the Midland, TX office. This position will be working on the growing West Texas horizontal shale exploration and development program.
•2+ years of relevant engineering and industry experience required, preferably with experience in tight gas, shales, and fractured-reservoir formations. Horizontal completions experience preferred.
•A strong, onsite fracturing operations background is required, including some experience with onsite fracturing supervision both inside and outside of the frac van.
•Experience in rig workover, coiled tubing and wireline operations is required.
•This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to effectively work with other completion engineers, field foremen, onsite consultants, and cross-discipline professionals to plan and execute complex horizontal completions.
•Candidate must be action oriented, able to learn quickly and constructively work on multidisciplinary projects, evaluate complex operational challenges, identify potential issues, and develop/implement strategies ensuring minimal downtime, economic viability and delivery of anticipated production volumes.
•Strong computer skills will be needed including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. FracPro, Open Wells, Access, and Spot Fire are a plus.
•Primary job responsibilities include preparing stimulation job designs and procedures for stimulation, workover, well prep, coiled tubing and rig workover, organizing the logistics around those jobs, and ensuring the execution is accomplished as desired.
•Other responsibilities include: Creating AFE’s, cost estimates, post job reports/analysis, generating necessary documents and/or data for accurate regulartory filing, approving invoices and tracking costs.
•Emphasis will be placed on evaluating data, optimizing well performance, cost management, and implementing new technologies to bring the greatest value to the corporation.
•Commitment to being a leader in safety, environmental protection, and health are required.
•There is a strong focus on interdisciplinary team work, both in the office and in the field.
•Travel will be required to improve onsite operations and to maintain a teamwork atmosphere.
Bachelor's Engineering degree required, with Petroleum Engineering being preferred.
This position may be is eligible for domestic relocation.
The percentage of travel required for this position is 15 - 35%
This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule
