This position is responsible for developing plans to complete horizontal wells within a fast-growing company. This engineer will be responsible for developing the design, monitoring the installation of well completions and help devise methods to improve well performance. The Completions Engineer will work closely with other technical departments in relation to drilling wells in new and existing fields, track well performance and continually optimize well frac design.

Essential Functions:

Prepare and review equipment and service bids to make recommendations for selection
Prepare AFEs and stimulation programs
Manage frac schedule and ensure efficient well cycle time
Plan and generate procedures for all completion operations and well intervention work
Plan service company involvement and personnel requirements
Troubleshoot well and completion related issues
Work closely with Production and Operations to track well performance and continually optimize well frac design
Track costs for all completions jobs and provide technical and cost assessment reviews if necessary


Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

Demonstrated knowledge in evaluating and selecting appropriate equipment to achieve completion objectives
Ability to work as an individual contributor in a team environment
Extensive knowledge in working with computers and drilling software
Excellent organizational, reasoning and communication skills
Desire to be a self-starter and motivated to complete tasks
Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary professionals and individuals at all levels throughout the company


Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and is required to travel up to 25% of the time to drilling sites.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. The worker is also required to have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, reading, transcribing and preparing and analyzing data and figures.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and expected hours of work are Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. On call availability is a requirement for this position.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering required
Five (5) or more years of petroleum and/or completions engineering experience including multiple years supporting conventional and unconventional assets required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn various other computer applications
