Job SummaryOverall Purpose of the Role: The AVP / Geologist role will provide technical analysis in support of mergers & acquisitions of oil & gas companies and/or transactions involving the acquisition & divestiture of oil & gas properties.Responsibilities and DutiesKey Accountabilities and Skills required: Evaluating oil & gas properties from a geologic perspective using typical industry toolsKnowledge of geologic characteristics of conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon plays globallyExperience researching and presenting views on subsurface characteristics of oil and gas assetsSpecific experience evaluating unconventional oil & gas properties in North America will be considered a plusQualifications and SkillsRisk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy StandardsYour Skills and Qualifications will includeBasic QualificationsBachelor's degreeMinimum 3+ years of related experience.Minimum 1+ years of experience working on the technical evaluation and marketing of oil & gas properties for acquisition or divestiture on behalf of clients, and an additional 5+ years of experience working as a geologist for an oil & gas company, or an oil & gas reserves estimation firm or consultancyPreferred QualificationsPrior Graduate degree preferred.Bachelor of Sciences in Geology, Geophysics or related field.BenefitsThe Benefits: Our customers deserve the best.
