Assists with measurement, recording, or evaluating geological data, using sonic, electronic, electrical, seismic, or gravity-measuring instruments to prospect for oil or gas, while under the supervision of the Senior Geologist.

POSITION FUNCTIONS: Analyze and interpret geological, geochemical, or geophysical information from sources such as survey data, well logs, bore holes, cores, drill cutting or aerial photos. Assist with planning and/or conducting geological, geochemical, or geophysical field studies or surveys, sample collection, or drilling and testing programs used to collect data for research or application. Preparation of geological maps, cross-sectional diagrams, charts, or reports concerning petroleum extraction, land use, or resource management, using results of fieldwork or laboratory research. Analyze and interpret geological and well data using computer software. Learn how to locate and estimate probable natural gas, oil, or underground water resources, using well log data, production data, geologic maps, charts, or research or survey results. Locate and review research articles or environmental, historical, or technical reports. Assist with conducting geological or geophysical studies to provide information for use in regional development, site selection, or development of projects, and ask questions to understand how to interpret the data. Create geological maps, monitor structural integrity, or advise and monitor operations crews. Inspect projects to analyze engineering problems, using test equipment or drilling machinery. Maintain records of drilling and production operations. Other duties as assigned

Will interact both internally and externally with a variety of people, including but not limited to: geologists, engineers, operations managers, landmen, mud loggers, compliance and contractors
