Chevron Canada Limited has been active in Canada for more than 80 years, exploring for, developing, producing and marketing crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids. Today, Chevron Canada has interests in liquids-rich shale gas acreage and oil sands projects in Alberta; a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) project and shale acreage in British Columbia; exploration, development and production projects offshore Newfoundland and Labrador; and exploration and discovered resource interests in the Beaufort Sea region of the Northwest Territories.
 
Chevron Canada Resources is actively seeking an Area Production Engineer to join the Canadian Business Unit (CBU). This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and will report to the Asset Optimization Team Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing the value of existing assets through well optimization, artificial lift, and well surveillance & diagnostics.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
 
Life of Well Management Plan:

Artificial Lift design, planning, execution, and optimization
Flowback management, drawdown design
Non-routine well Interventions
Idle well management, reactivation/suspension/abandonment

 
Production Optimization:

Asset Opportunity catalog - project prioritization and evaluation
Production enhancement opportunities
Well reliability analysis and opportunities
System constraint analysis
Support H2S, scale, and wax management plans

 
Production Forecasting, Well Surveillance & Modeling:

Monthly Production Outlooks
Well Diagnostics (DCA / RTA / Nodal / IPM)
Cross Functional well reviews
 

Qualifications:
 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5 -10 years of Production Engineering experience, unconventional shale gas experience preferred
Demonstrates ability to facilitate and develop opportunities, initiatives and strategies to achieve team objectives, including employee performance management and business partner appraisal.
Holds a strong drive, inspires commitment and trust, articulates a clear vision of success, developing and improving performance and resources across fields and disciplines to achieve goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have ability to work with all levels of the organization and outside the company such as contractors and partners.
Proven ability to analyze and understand complex situations quickly and develop practical, appropriate solutions to resolve high impact people/business/process issues. Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing work priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work with multiple deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment, both supporting other team members and contributing to the effectiveness and reliability of the team.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
