About the role
An experienced reservoir engineer is needed within the appraisal organization to work collaboratively with the multi-discipline team to develop appraisal plans designed to address key value drivers to facilitate data driven decisions. This reservoir engineer will utilize their extensive skills and knowledge base to identify and evaluate key uncertainties, describe the impact of uncertainty on alternative field development concepts and identify value-adding opportunities for uncertainty and risk reduction within the appraisal organization.

The qualified candidate should have substantive experience working as a reservoir engineer on assets throughout their lifecycle, including experience or familiarity with deepwater assets and preferably previous appraisal experience.

This position is a grade 11 role.

In this role you will:
Prepare reservoir engineering work plans and schedules
Build and run field reservoir simulation models to determine expected production profiles for fields within the appraisal organization portfolio
Interpret and integrate pressure data, dynamic data and fluid property data and ranges in collaboration with geoscience to be utilized within modelling efforts
Contribute to optimization of value through identification and screening of alternative development concepts for appraisal outcomes with recognition of uncertainty
Conduct uncertainty analysis
Identify and compare relevant reservoir analogues to compare to results from reservoir simulation
Use of analytical tools for screening of potential development opportunities
Make significant contributions to the appraisal plans and recommendation for new data acquisition plans based on value of information analysis
Participate in planning and executing appraisal activities
Support budget and planning process submissions for the team
Act as resource estimator for contingent resource updates as required
Collaborate with technical assurance organization to improve efficiency and ensure quality work focused on significant value drivers
Collaborate with projects team in development planning and development optimization exercises
Represent reservoir engineering in multi discipline groups to impact alternative field development concepts, design basis and well operations and make technical and economic recommendations
Present clear and concise summaries to internal and external stakeholders
About You
B.S.or higher in relevant engineering discipline
Strong reservoir engineering skill set with a good understanding of reservoir management, well operations, and geology to help optimize production and value
Experience building and running Eclipse simulation models
Experience with petroleum resources management system preferred
Previous appraisal experience preferred
