3D MULTI-MODE SEISMIC POSITION AND NAVIGATION QUALITY CONTROL EXPERT
3D Seismic Acquisition Survey for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. The work area combines land, coastlines, transition zone, shallow marine and offshore waters.
Responsibilities and Requirements
The incumbent will be the consultant with prime responsibility for ensuring the positional and navigation quality and integrity meets COMPANY’s requirements and will be the adjudicator on these requirements.
Should have more than 10 years’ experience with surveys of this type and disposition, of which at least 5 years must be in a supervisory or management capacity. Further preference will be given to candidates with geodetic control (IGS) survey experience and those with formal surveying qualifications such as those endorsed by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
With reference to preambles above, duties will comprise but not be limited to:
Acting as COMPANY’s authority in the field for navigation quality and positional control; Supporting QCQA Team Leader;
Issuing navigation/positioning information for inclusion to daily production reports in a format and at a time as agreed with COMPANY;
Ensuring the acquisition contractor is working to the required operational standards and specifications in all positioning respects. For the avoidance of doubt, this means all those duties ordinarily expected of an experienced client representative QCQA positioning expert in terms of navigation data quality QCQA, positioning control, integrity and tolerances, positioning technical audits, tests and reviews, health, safety, operational efficiency, reporting and such like activities;
Producing charts and maps to support acquisition activities especially where changes to pre-plot are envisaged
Supplying and supporting initiatives through experience for the betterment of the seismic survey.
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the acquisition contractor’s geodetic control, positioning and navigation systems, and methods meet COMPANY’s requirements. Must therefore be fully conversant with the WGS84 ITRF datum, UTM & TM projections including projection conversion, scale and distortion values, Local and other Chart Datum and complex depth/height conversions. Shall work in the Quality Control Team under the leadership of QCQA Team Leader.
The incumbent will be expected to produce a comprehensive joint final report on the survey with other consultants.
