Job Role Summary We are looking to hire dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for ExxonMobil’s core Geophysical Operations group in Spring, Texas. Position is responsible for working with in-house groups, such as project teams and internal clients, to plan, design and oversee geophysical programs, including modeling and performing detailed calculations of earth attributes, to ensure that business and technical objectives are achieved. Position is also responsible for working with external geophysical vendors to ensure projects are conducted in a way to meet appropriate technical, operational, and safety expectations.
Responsibilities Execute programs in compliance with Safety, Security, Health & Environment and (SSH&E) guidelines as well as ExxonMobil’s safety management system.
Execute geophysical programs of different data types, including 2-D, 3-D, and 4-D, marine, land, transition, and/or Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) seismic data, multi-component seismic data, marine shallow seabed data, gravity, magnetic, and Controlled Source Electromagnetic (CSEM) data in any part of the world.
Perform geophysical contract administration/management, including working with procurement to develop contracts, provide quality control to field operations, verify and validate product quality, ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget and report project results to management.
Requirements MA/MS and/or PhD degree in Geological Sciences or Earth Sciences
Minimum 4 years geophysical operations experience, including planning and executing geophysical surveys in a variety of environments as well as providing project oversight to SSH&E issues
Must have working knowledge of all aspects of geophysical data acquisition, including: SSH&E logistics, operations, instrumentation, equipment, recording, and positioning
Must have excellent communication skills, possess high level of integrity, and willingness to build trust and accountability in inter-personal relationships while working in team settingMust be fluent in both written and spoken English
Must be proficient in current communication mediums and technologies (i.e., Microsoft Office, telecommunications, email, meetings)
Must be in good physical condition and shall comply with all health and safety requirements (including any vendor, vessel, or country-specific certifications required to work offshore)
